Mozilla are about to release the <audio> and <video> tags over the next couple of weeks in Firefox 3.5. Christopher Blizzard from Mozilla asked Al to create a couple of Javascript demos for the release project ("35 Days"). He thought it would be fun to show the group what he's been doing and give members a basic starter on how to access the new media capabilities of the browser with Javascript. (As well as demonstrate how easy it is to make interactive visualizations with Processing.js.)

Take a look at some of Al's Processing.js experiments here, remember this is all Javascript. No Flash: http://www.hyper-metr....

Bring your laptops as you will be able to interact with Al's presentation in real-time.

After the presentation | demonstration, we will go around the room introducing ourselves and asking the group for advice | opinions on any JavaScript-related issues members are facing.

Microsoft will provide pizza again. What a nice company!

Please RSVP and bring guests. We always have lots of pizza left over.

Had some complaints about not enough pizza. We had a sudden increase in attendees yesterday afternoon and shot from 40 to 60 in a few hours RSVPing. I'll be sure next time to send and update to Microsoft for the near final RSVP count around 1 PM the day of

Video was worse than any web cam I have ever seen, and the audio was so saturated it's not really worth listening. If people want to see/hear it anyway, just reply and I'll post it somewhere. If you're presenting and you want to record... you will do better bringing your own equipment to the meeting, unless you want it to look like you accidentally transmitted it to earth from the edge of the universe through a worm hole and a field of radioactive space dust :) No joke that's what it looks like.

Again didn't make it, this would be easier to get too if it was later, 6pm is too early in my opinion, anyone out on the 128 ring would have a hard time getting in for 6pm

@Marsh, Please don't share the video in Real Media. Any other file format would be fine. :)

Good news! The good folks at Microsoft are going to be recording our presentations from now on. I will be uploading a real media file of our presentations to our website from now on under the Files tab. I'll be sharing this file upload with other JavaScript meetups around the country. But nothing is better than the real thing in person. This will be an interactive presentation so bring your laptops.

I've seen a few of Al's demos so far and I think this one will really knock some socks off.

This should be a really interesting presentation. I won't be able to attend as I am still recovering from knee surgery and can't drive yet.
